Sunderland's academy youngsters will take part in a youth tournament in Egypt next month.

The young Cats will leave for Alexandria on Saturday 31st July, returning on Monday 9th August.

They will take part in the Alexandria Cup, an eight-team tournament also featuring Barclays Premier League counterparts West Ham United.

The English pair will be joined by Brazil's Sao Paulo, El Wehda of the UAE and Saudi Arabia's Itthad Jeddah as well as Egyptian sides Itthad, Al Ahly and Zamalek.

Coach Kevin Ball told safc.com: "The tournament will be a good experience for the lads and everyone is already looking forward to heading out there."
