Sunderland are weighing up another bid for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.
The Daily Star says Sunderland had a £14m bid for the Italian accepted by Liverpool in July only for the player himself to turn down a move to the Stadium of Light where he enjoyed a successful loan stint last season.
Poyet was snubbed again a month later and is aware Borini is on record as saying he wants to stay and fight for his Anfield future.
But with Liverpool facing Champions League elimination, the 23-year-old could find first team opportunities even harder to come by during the second half of the season.
