Sunderland are eyeing Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies.

The Daily Mail says Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is ready to offer Davies an escape route out of Bolton.

O'Neill is desperate to add to his firepower as Connor Wickham is the only fit, recognised striker in his squad for Sunday's FA Cup tie with Middlesbrough.

And former Southampton and Blackburn forward Davies, who has also drawn attention from Wolves and Everton, could fit the bill.
