Sunderland have handed trials to teenage midfielder Wade Joyce.

The Black Cats are taking a close look at Joyce, who is available from Bury.

Joyce impressed in midfield for Sunderland U18s in their 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Coach Elliott Dickman told safc.com: "I thought we played really well especially in the first half. We scored two fine goals and trialist Wade Joyce had a promising game.
