Sunderland are being linked with a January raid on the Chinese transfer market.
Sunderland are eyeing former Paris St Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau. The 29-year-old is currently playing in China for Dalian Aerbin, but La Provence claims Sunderland want to bring in Hoarau in the New Year.
French clubs Marseille, St Etienne and Lens are also reported to be interested in a winter deal.
