Sunderland striker Connor Wickham is disappointed by his England U21 snub.

Wickham was a regular under ex-boss Stuart Pearce but hasn't had a look in under Gareth Southgate.

"I don't understand the situation," said Wickham.

"I've not spoken to anyone in the England set-up for a while.

"But if they want me to play, I'm never going to say no to my country."
