Sunderland striker Fletcher cleared for Palace clash

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher is clear to face Crystal Palace on Monday.

There was concern the striker had damaged his metatarsal.

"Fletch is back and I am really looking forward to seeing him on the pitch on Monday," said Poyet, who is set to axe keeper Vito Mannone in favour of Costel Pantilimon.

"I feared he had broken his metatarsal. That was the shout from the doctor because of the pain he had and where it was.

"Luckily, it wasn't so bad which is great.

"He's had two or three days' rest with the bruising but has trained today without any problems."
