Sunderland striker Cisse: I play better when gaffer has me angry

Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse admits he plays better when "angry".

"I play better when I am angry!" Cisse revealed to the Sunday Sun. "That's what my ex-boss Guy Roux used to do. He knew me by heart and he knew the right buttons to press.

"Psychology is a big part of being a manager. Every player is different and responds to different things. If you have to be nasty, you have to be nasty.

"You have to turn the anger you feel into desire and a determination to show the manager he is wrong.

"No one likes to be criticised by their manager but sometimes it is done to get a reaction - and it worked last weekend (against Blackburn)."
