Fabio Borini was proud to be Sunderland's derby matchwinner after victory over Newcastle United.

The Italian striker, who joined the Black Cats on loan for the season from Liverpool, netted against bitter rivals Newcastle on Sunday.

"The goal was certainly important," he told Rete Sport. "More for the team than for me personally.

"We want to get out of what has been a difficult moment, and it was a great thrill to make that happen."
