Sunderland striker Bent takes aim again at Spurs boss Redknapp

Sunderland striker Darren Bent has taken a new swipe at his former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

His 13 goals in 20 Premier League games this season stands comparison with the likes of Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba and he has always hovered around the goal every other game mark at previous clubs Ipswich, Charlton and Spurs, scoring 130 times in just 257 starts.

"Guys like Torres and Wayne Rooney don't care about missing," Bent told the Daily Express. "As soon as I get a chance, I go for it. Obviously I missed the one against Portsmouth last season and Harry Redknapp criticised me.

"It opened my eyes. Throughout my career my managers have always backed me by saying, 'He missed one today but he will bury the next one,' but with Harry I never got that.

"When you have been hung out to dry, you feel like saying it won't affect me and perhaps all that has made me a better player. I certainly think I am a superior player now to four years ago."
