Sunderland striker Bent: Spurs pair ahead of me in World Cup reckoning

Sunderland striker Darren Bent believes his former Tottenham teammates are ahead of him in the World Cup pecking order.

Bent outshone both Spurs strikers Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch in Saturday's 3-1 win.

Bent said: "Crouchy scored and Defoe looked really sharp. Those two will definitely go to the World Cup.

"If I go, I'll be happy. If not, I'll move on. I can't be that far away."
