Sunderland striker Darren Bent has recalled the day he needed protecting from former Bolton Wanderers defender Danny Shittu.
Speaking to Christian O'Connell on the Absolute Radio Breakfast show as part of the 'Who's Scoring Christian Campaign', Bent recalled his clash with the now QPR stopper.
He revealed: "Danny Shittu was the biggest man Id ever seen in my life.. He was saying all sorts of things to me in the tunnel about what he was going to do to me.
"I was really young at the time but the thing is I had big Herman Hreidarsson who was standing right behind me backing me up so luckily nothing happened in the end"
Who's Scoring Christian', is a week long charitable campaign where listeners encourage football legends to call up Christian with a massive £10,000 up for grabs.
The campaign kicked off today and will continue all of this week helping to celebrate a new era of football at Absolute Radio who have won the rights to exclusive Barclays Premier League commentaries for the next three seasons.
After one week listeners vote for their favourite caller, the listener responsible for convincing the winning Football Legend to call wins a cool £5,000, while the Legend also wins £5,000 for the charity of their choice. If the football legend calls in off their own back however - the whole £10K goes to charity!
