Sunderland strike partnership is working

Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones feels his partnership with Djibril Cisse is working as they are both scoring goals. There has been a season long debate over whether or not they can actually play well together.

Yet having seen Cisse score nine times to date this season while he himself has contributed eight in just 17 appearances, Jones is puzzled by the interest.

He said: "The question in my mind is what does everybody want?

"We are both scoring goals - so I don't understand the big fuss about who plays well off each other, or what not.

"We are doing well for the football club, which is most important, and getting the goals - so question answered.

"The most important thing is to have a relationship with the team - because at the end of the day, it is only the team that can win the game.

"One or two might score goals, but the team has to win the game. Once the team's relationship is well, you should be all right."
