Sunderland boss Steve Bruce admits that more players will be going rather than coming during the winter transfer window.
After the Black Cats were knocked out of the FA Cup by Notts County on Saturday, Bruce said that there would certainly be changes to his squad in January.
"I said before the January transfer window opened that I would expect more players going out than coming in and that remains the case," Bruce told the Sunderland Echo.
"Players have come back for a variety of reasons and it's certainly helpful to be able to bring in players like Jack [Colback] and Andy [Reid] at a time when we are down to the bare bones and we need to give players a rest.
"But there are still opportunities for these players to move on and we won't stand in their way if a bid arrives which is suitable for all parties."
