Sunderland still hoping to lure Cardiff target Scocco

The Mirror is reporting that Sunderland are hoping to use their qualification for the Capital One Cup final as a carrot to capture Nacho Scocco.

The Black Cats are being linked with a winter move for the Internacional attacking midfielder but face competition from Cardiff City.

However, manager Gus Poyet hopes the Wearside clubs dramatic league cup semi-final win over Manchester United on Wednesday night can help lure the Argentine to the Stadium of Light this month.
