Sunderland skipper O'Shea happy Brown fit for Cup final

Sunderland captain John O'Shea is delighted Wes Brown is fully fit for the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City.

The former Manchester United duo could start at the heart of manager Gus Poyet's defence today.

O'Shea said: "All the time he was out injured, the frustration was growing for him, obviously, and for me also because the lads hadn't fully seen the type of player he is and the quality he has. He has been immense since he came back but he'll be keeping an eye on his tackles in the first few minutes!

"His tackling is one of his best assets, though. Fingers crossed - we don't know the team yet - but he'll definitely be coming to the forefront of the manager's thinking to start the game."
