Sunderland captain Lee Cattermole says victory at QPR was fully deserved.
Wes Brown's late decider earned Martin O'Neill a first away win as Sunderland manager and Cattermole says his side kept going despite being pegged back at 2-2 having been two goals up.
"The manager has us believing and he was telling us to get across the front post when balls were coming in, which obviously paid off for the first and third goals.
"The delay for the referee going off injured didn't help us - we lost momentum and conceded a couple of sloppy goals.
"But we came back into it and seemed to find that extra gear. There was only one team going to win it at the end.""We fully deserved that third goal; we kept going at 2-2 and I believe we had a better mindset than QPR," he told safc.com.
