Sunderland skipper Lee Cattermole is facing two months out with a knee injury.

Cattermole, who originally hurt his knee in Saturday's game against West Brom, underwent scans yesterday but is already fearing the worst.

It is another hammer blow for under-pressure boss Martin O'Neill, who desperately needs his skipper for the hectic December programme.
