Sunderland signing Mvoto happy to join ex-PSG pals in England

Jean-Yves Mvoto is delighted with his move to Sunderland.

The French 19-year-old yesterday signed a three-and-a-half-year deal and his club Paris St Germain will receive around £300,000 in compensation.

Mvoto's friends Armand Traore and Adel Taarabt have broken into the Arsenal and Tottenham first teams respectively and the teenager hopes to be able to learn from them.

"It has always been an ambition to come to the English Premier League," he told the Sunderland Echo.

"Am I ready to play in the Premier League? We will wait and see. I already know Armand and Adel, who are doing well in England.

"I know the passion of the fans in Sunderland. Sunderland is a great club and it is very good to be here.

"I am happy to come to England to play in this league."
