Sunderland have completed the signing of Patrick van Aanholt from Chelsea.
The 23-year old Dutch defender has penned a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee after spending the past two-and-a-half seasons with Vitesse Arnhem.

Left-back van Aanholt first joined Chelsea's youth academy as a 17-year old back in 2007 but manage djust eight first team appearances for the Blues.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, the two-time Dutch international had loan spells with Coventry City, Newcastle United, Leicester City, Wigan Athletic and finally Vitesse where he made 84 appearances.
Van Aanholt becomes Sunderland's fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Billy Jones from West Bromwich Albion, Costel Pantilimon from Manchester City and Jordi Gomez from Wigan Athletic.
