Sunderland are believed to be showing interest in Portsmouth centre-half Younes Kaboul.

Pompey have been forced to put all of their players on the transfer list as they face falling into administration due to swelling debts and Kabould could ease some financial pressure as he has been in impressive form this season.

The Black Cats are set to make a move for the 24-year old, who is also being linked with French club Lyon, as manager Steve Bruce sets his sights on a key defender.

Kaboul joined Tottenham from Auxerre in July 2007 before moving to the south coast in August 2008.
