Sunderland set to sign adidas kit deal

Sunderland are set to join the adidas stable.

The Sunday Mirror says Sunderland are poised to seal a lucrative new kit deal with adidas.

The sportswear giant will replace Umbro when their five-year contract expires at the end of the season.

The Black Cats see their tie-up with the globally-famous brand as part of their plan to develop new markets in Africa and Asia.

Their decision to join the adidas stable keeps the German manufacturer's Premier League stake at 25 percent following Liverpool's switch to US-based Warrior Sports in a £160million, six-year deal from next season.

Sunderland will join Chelsea, Stoke, Swansea and West Bromwich Albion as adidas wearers.
