Sunderland set asking price for Scocco

Sunderland are demanding top price to sell Nacho Scocco.

The Evening Chronicle says Boca Juniors have been told they will have to match the £3.2m Sunderland paid for Scocco if they want to bring the Argentinian home.

Scocco has so far failed to impress since joining the Black Cats in January from Brazilian side Nacional, which has sparked a flurry of rumours in his homeland that he could be on his way back to Argentina.

Scocco's representative Fabian Soldini gave a radio interview in which he said: "The only way Scocco could be transferred to Boca is if they pay the same money that Sunderland invested in him, which would be near $5.5m [around £3.2m].

"On the other hand, the coach of Sunderland wants Scocco in his team and he who makes the decisions at the club.

"Taking that into account, it would be difficult for him to be transferred to an Argentinian team.

"But, in football, anything can happen."
