Sunderland are prepared to take Liverpool striker Fabio Borini on a new loan.
The Sunday Express says the Black Cats are ready to explore taking Borini on a second season's loan as the Liverpool striker stalls over a £14million move to the Stadium of Light.
The clubs agreed a fee for Borini last week, but the Italian joined Liverpool on their pre-season tour to the USA rather than discussing personal terms with the Black Cats.
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is anxious to hold talks with Borini, 23, who was a major success on Wearside last term.
