Sunderland see Panathinaikos star Ninis as Sessegnon replacement

Sunderland are following Panathiniakos midfielder Sotirios Ninis.

The Greece international, 21, has long been admired by Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sunderland scouts have recommended Ninis to manager Martin O'Neill as he contemplates losing Stephane Sessegnon in the summer.

The Benin dazzler is a big money target for Arsenal and Liverpool.
