Sunderland's Yorke considers move down under

Former Manchester United star and current Sunderland player Dwight Yorke is considering an offer to return to play in Australia. Last season's A-League Champions Newcastle Jets have offered Yorke a six-month deal to become the clubs marquee player and he is expected to make a decision in the next 24 hours.

Yorke played for Sydney FC in the first season of the A-League in 2005/2006 and led them to the inaugural Championship before returning to the Premier League in 2006 when he joined Sunderland.

The Trinidad & Tobago star is close friends with Jets high performance manager Ian Crook who was assistant coach at Sydney Yorke's successful opening season.
