Sunderland's Gyan says Al-Ain loan was good for all parties

Asamoah Gyan says his shock loan move from English Premier League club Sunderland to UAE outfit Al-Ain has benefited all three parties involved.

The Ghana international recently left the Stadium of Light to take up a season-long loan in the Middle East and although he has received plenty of criticism for the way he went about it, Gyan insists that the Black Cats could have kept him and added that it was a move that all involved were happy with.

"I did not have any problem with Steve Bruce. He is a great coach and he has always supported me," Gyan said.

"People say I moved because of money.

"You need to be happy - although I'm not saying I wasn't happy at Sunderland or I wasn't happy in the Premier League.

"I had to decide with my family and everything and they were alright with my decision so I had to just move.

"It helped myself and Sunderland as well. Everyone was happy with the loan, and to be honest if Sunderland were not happy as well they could have not loaned me because I have a contract with them.

"I think the three parties were happy to do the deal."
