Sunderland's Giaccherini not interested in Italy, China moves

Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini is not about to leave the club according to his agent.

The 28-year old Italian winger has been linked with homeland clubs Parma and Genoa, as well as Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande, but his agent Furio Valcareggi says his client has no plans to exit Wearside.

"Marcello Lippi tried to take Giaccherini to China, we thank him but Emanuele doesn't leave Sunderland," he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"The Premier League's table is very tight and there is plenty of time to return to even a European position."

He added: "Pietro Leonardi (Parma's general director) contacted me because they like the player and they seek a replacement for Jonathan Biabiany (who is set to join Guangzhou).

"Genoa made an attempt for Emanuele too, but I repeat that he remains at Sunderland also because he has a major contract with them and we want to respect it."
