Sunderland's Cattermole to play through injury

Lee Cattermole will see out the remaining SunderlandPremier League campaign despite a medial ligament strain. The ex-Wigan and Middlesbrough man felt the knock in the club's FA Cup exit to Everton last week and then again in their 3-3 draw at Manchester City on Saturday.

"I felt my medial a little in the Everton game, but I was fine after that," he told the Shields Gazette. "Then I just felt it again in the closing stages at City. Just tweaked. It won't be a problem though.

"There was just a little stretch of my ligament. I went off as a precaution."
