Sunderland manager Steve Bruce believes that Sir Alex Ferguson would have led any of the top four clubs to the title this season.
The Red Devils put themselves on the brink of a record 19th league title with a solid 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday and Bruce believes that the job done by Ferguson indicates that the Scottish tactician is a genius.
"It is the manager. If he had been manager of any of the top four they would have won it," Bruce said.
"Let's be fair, two years ago he sold (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Carlos) Tevez, everyone is questioning his judgement then he buys (Antonio) Valencia and (Javier ) Hernandez and wins the league again and is in the Champions League final.
"He's a genius. He's unbelievable. Where do you start? I think he's the greatest ever - I don't think anyone will get close to his achievement, not only of managing Man United for 25 years but what he has achieved in those years."
