Sunderland's Brown facing lengthy spell on sidelines

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has revealed that defender Wes Brown could be out for a while.

The former Manchester United man injured his knee in the FA Cup clash with Middlesbrough on Sunday and is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines according to O'Neill.

"There were concerns the injury might have been season-ending, but the news is a bit better, I think," said O'Neill.

"He is still going to be out for a long, long time."
