Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore admits he cannot wait for World Cup training camp with the USA team to commence.
The 24-year old has been selected in Juergen Klinsmann's provisional 30-man squad for Brazil 2014 which will begin training in California on Wednesday and he is eager to begin preparations for world soccer's biggest event.
"Getting a chance to play in a World Cup is what we all dream of, it's what we play for," Altidore told MLSsoccer.com. "I'm itching to get started.
"First, I want to make sure I'm part of that 23. I'm looking forward to working hard and being one of those guys [Klinsmann] can count on in Brazil."
Altidore, who has scored eight goals in his past 11 internationals, added: "I've been playing with some of these guys for 5-6 years, we all know each other very well.
"That's what is special about this group.
"Now, we have brought some good young players into the group, so it's going to be a challenging camp. I think that will help us going forward."
