Sunderland have rubbished claims of manager Paolo di Canio already seeking a pay-rise.
The Journal says weekend reports suggested the Italian was looking for a pay rise after saving the Black Cats from relegation, and that owner Ellis Short would look to replace him with Gustavo Poyet if agreement could not be reached.
But club sources insist this is not the case.
