Sunderland survival hopes have been hit by an injury suffered by Steven Fletcher in action for Scotland.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill will be anxiously awaiting news of Fletcher's ankle injury after the striker was forced off just two minutes into Scotland's clash with Wales at Hampden.

Fletcher, who only recently returned to international action after a falling out with previous manager Craig Levein, landed awkwardly after challenging for a high ball with Ben Davies.
