Sunderland rocked as Fletcher faces SIX WEEKS out

Sunderland have been rocked by news that Steven Fletcher is facing SIX WEEKS on the sidelines.

The Mail on Sunday says Fletcher could be out for up to six weeks with the ankle injury he suffered in Friday night's World Cup qualifier.

The Scotland striker was forced off just two minutes into the clash with Wales at Hampden after he landed awkwardly after challenging for a high ball with Ben Davies.

Fletcher has scored 11 of his side's 33 Premier League goals this season and his absence will be a huge blow for manager Martin O'Neill as they seek to beat the drop.
