Sunderland are locked in fresh talks with Brighton for midfielder Liam Bridcutt.
The former Chelsea trainee had a transfer request rejected by the Seagulls earlier this month.
However, the People says Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is expecting to complete the signing of Bridcutt from his previous club Brighton before Friday's deadline.
