Sunderland remain keen on South Korea striker Ji Dong Won, of Chunham Dragons.
The Daily Mail says he has denied that a move to the Stadium of Light has been completed but Sunderland are among a number of clubs who expressed interest in the 20-year-old.
In commercial terms it also opens up doors for the clubs in the Asian market as they look to increase their revenue from other areas in the globe. The chance to sign a top South Korean player who can handle the Premier League is almost too good to miss for some.
Dong, who had a trial with Reading in 2008, has six goals in 11 games for the national side and took the headlines with South Korea at the 2011 Asian Cup, where he scored four goals.
