Sunderland have cut loose £9 million goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
Despite making what was voted the best save in the history of the Premier League against Bolton in December 2010 (scroll down to watch), Gordon made just 95 appearances in five years at the Stadium of Light.
He joins fellow stoppers Trevor Carson and Lewis King, defenders Liam Bagnall and Jordan Lavender, midfielders James Brace and Brett Elliott as well as strikers Jordan Cook and Oumare Tounkara out of the exit door.
Nicklas Bendtner, Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos have all returned to their parent clubs after loan spells.
