Sunderland rejected Turkish bid for Gyan

Sunderland rejected a big offer for striker Asamoah Gyan yesterday.

The Journal says the Black Cats are understood to have received an offer of less than the £13m they paid Rennes on deadline day last August, and the bid has been turned down flat.

Sunderland fought off competition from Turkey to sign the Ghanaian striker, when Fenerbahce were the interested party. It is possible that Fenerbahce have revived their interest in the 25-year-old, although several other Turkish sides have also shown a willingness to spend money.
