Birmingham City have failed with a bid for Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner.
The Daily Star says Sunderland have rejected a bid by Birmingham to take former midfielder Gardner back on loan for the rest of the season.
West Bromwich Albion and Wolves are also keen on the ex-Aston Villa star.
