Sunderland in pursuit of Werder Bremen's former Wigan striker Di Santo

Sunderland are believed to be keen on Werder Bremen striker Franco Di Santo.

The Daily Mail reports that the Black Cats are eyeing an £8million move for the 26-year old who has 13 Bundesliga goals to his name this season.

It is believed that Sunderland sporting director Lee Congerton, who worked with Di Santo at Chelsea, is keen to lure the Argentine to the Stadium of Light in the summer despite the fact he never failed to hit any real heights during a three-year spell with Wigan Athletic.
