Sunderland have dropped their interest in Portsmouth defender Marc Wilson.
The Black Cats were being linked with a deal for Wilson as Pompey sought permission to sell players outside the transfer window.
However, the People says Sunderland boss Steve Bruce pulled the plug on a £4m move for Wilson - after the centre half's display against Stoke last weekend.
