Sunderland face frustration in their bid for Panathinaikos winger Charas Mavrias.
The Evening Chronicle says the Black Cats agreed a £2.5m fee with Mavrias' club Panathinaikos a fortnight ago and at that stage it looked like the deal would be completed quickly.
Mavrias had been expected to travel to England to undergo a medical and settle personal terms but so far he has not done so and the deal has not progressed.
It now appears that Sunderland's interest in the highly-rated 19-year-old has cooled.
