Sunderland are considering a move for veteran striker Kevin Davies.
The Evening Chronicle says in January 2012 Martin O'Neill had a deadline-day bid rejected for Bolton Wanderers striker Davies.
And now the 36-year-old has been released by the Trotters, Paolo Di Canio is said to be taking another look.
After a terrible season in front of goal, Di Canio is anxious to shake up Sunderland's attacking resources. And while it would almost certainly only be as a back-up, Davies is one of the options he is thought to be considering.
