Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is determined to land Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia.
The Sunday Sun says Bruce was priced out of a move for the £9m former Newcastle midfielder in the summer, but will sound out his old club Wigan again when the transfer window reopens.
Bruce has already warned Black Cats fans that he does not envisage major transfer activity on Wearside next month - but he will make an exception if Wigan show any signs they are prepared to cash in on the pacy Frenchman.
