Sunderland plan January raid for Wigan's Figueroa
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce remains keen on Wigan Athletic fullback Maynor Figueroa.
The People says Wigan turned down a £5million bid from their ex-boss just before the last deadline.
But, as in the case of Lee Cattermole, Bruce is confident he can wear down the Latics come the new year.
