Sunderland midfielder Muntari backing Bruce, Spurs boss Redknapp for England job

Sunderland midfielder Sulley Muntari is backing manager Steve Bruce for the England job.

Muntari also believes Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, who he worked with at Portsmouth, would be a top Three Lions coach.

Muntari said: "It was great working with Harry. He always made sure that you were comfortable and that you were in good shape mentally and physically .

"He didn't want to see his players stressed or stuff like because he wanted to see his players on top form all the time.

"He has some similarities with Steve Bruce. It is great having people like that.

"They are both top-class English managers.

"Harry would get on easily as England manager if he was asked to take the job because everywhere he goes he has done really well and taken his club on to higher levels.

"He did it at Portsmouth and he has done the same with Tottenham."

Muntari added: "I also think that Steve Bruce is a great manager.

"He could do the job as well because he can bring the group of players together and bring the best out of them. Plus he is English and he is a top manager so he could do the job. Why not?

"They are very similar. Steve is a bit younger but they're both good people."
