Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini is a step away from joining Napoli.

The 31-year-old joined the Black Cats in 2013 but spent last season on loan at Bologna.

He enjoyed an impressive Euro 2016 and is now on the verge of joining Napoli.

His agent Fulvio Valcareggi said: "It's all done, the last few details with Sunderland are being smoothed out.

"Emanuele is very happy to join Napoli, a great team that will be playing to win.

"He's finally getting what he deserves, after being underestimated for years."
