Former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Darron Gibson has been arrested for drink driving.

The Sun reports Gibson was arrested for drink driving for a second time - after allegedly smashing his £75,000 Mercedes into a row of parked cars.

The Sunderland midfielder was detained by cops after his luxury 4x4 clipped a Nissan Note as he allegedly sped down a quiet street in the city

He then careered into a row of parked cars including a white Seat Ibiza, which was propelled 40 feet down the road by the force.

Cops were called to Dovedale Road, Sunderland, shortly before noon on Saturday and Gibson was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

An unshaven Gibson, 30, was photographed as he was put into a police patrol car.
