Jack Colback is determined to win back his place in Sunderland's first team.

Colback began the season in the team but has dropped to the bench recently with David Vaughan and Craig Gardner emerging as first choices in the middle.

He told safc.com: "It's been disappointing to drop down to the bench recently but that is part and parcel of football.

"We have a lot of options here and the manager has plenty of quality at his disposal so it's inevitable that at certain points he's going to want to change it around.

"All I can do is keep doing what I've been doing and hopefully be good enough to be selected next time."
